AHF GLOBAL IMPACT
EGYPT HEALTH TOURISM INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE
Under the auspices of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, and in the honorable presence of Professor Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, the Prime Minister, the Arab Hospitals Federation had the honor to participate in the Egypt Health Tourism International Conference under the theme ``Echoes of the Past Resonating Today``.
The AHF delegation formed by the President Fadi Alame, the Chief Executive Officer Alice Yammine Boueiz , the Vice President Mohamad AlNoimi and the Executive Council Member Dr. Ali Abou Grain has attended the grand opening ceremony and heard valuable insights and vision from the Egyptian government to shape the future of the Health Tourism sector in Egypt and met leaders from the Egyptian public and private healthcare sectors, WHO and other stakeholders.
During this big event, Mrs. Alice Yammine has participated in a panel discussion chaired by the distinguished Healthcare personality Dr. Ahmad El Sobki, Chairman of the Egyptian Health Authority, alongside experts and specialists in the healthcare and medical tourism sectors, and explored the role that the Arab Hospitals Federation can play in enhancing collaboration across the region to promote Egypt as a health tourism hub, and discussed the 4Ts approach embraced by Egyptian Health Tourism, focusing on Technical expertise, Technological Advancement, Touristic Sites, and Tactical Geography reaffirming the commitment of AHF in opening borders and advancing health in all Arab countries.
MEETING WITH H.E. DR. HANAN AL KUWARI- MINISTER OF PUBLIC HEALTH-QATAR
During its presence in Doha for the Middle East Forum for Quality and Safety in Healthcare organized by Hamad Medical Corporation , the Arab Hospitals Federation had the honor to meet Her Excellency Dr. Hanan Al-Kuwari- the Minister of Public Health in Qatar and to present her the Golden key of the federation as a token of appreciation for her support of the federation's journey and to congratulate Her Excellency on being chosen as the best minister in the world during the Government Summit in Dubai.
Thanks to her support, the federation has achieved many successes and made significant progress. It was an occasion to discuss with Her Excellency the preparations for AHDAF Qatar that will be organized on 29-30 April in Doha under her patronage and to present her the AHF strategic Plan for 2024-2025 launched by the federation on the occasion of its silver jubilee.
The delegation, which included MP Fadi Alame- AHF President , Mrs. Alice Yammine Boueiz, AHF CEO, participated in this important forum held in Doha with the presence of Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser and a number of health ministers and decision-makers. It was an opportunity for the delegation to meet with the Sudanese, Somali, and Palestinian Ministers of Health, as well as the Regional Director of the World Health Organization, Dr. Hanan Al-Balkhi, and a team from the Hamad Medical Corporation, the federation's permanent strategic partner.
Conference of the Parties COP28
The AHF Delegation headed by MP Fadi Alame - the President, Mrs. Alice Boueiz - the CEO, Dr. Ali el Haj - Chairman of Governance, Leadership, and Research Division, and Dr. Bassam Kaddissi - Chairman of Healthcare Sustainability Division participated in the Conference of the Parties COP28 where it engaged in several panel discussions focused on healthcare sustainability. The most important was the session organized by the Ministry of Health and Prevention in the United Arab Emirates and the World Health Organization, under the theme 'Reimagining Healthcare Sustainability.' Dr. Bassam Kaddissi presented his perspective on the subject, which encompassed the promotion of innovative practices, embracing technology, and emphasizing a comprehensive approach to addressing climate change. The discussions also delved into the challenges facing healthcare systems, health ministries, and hospitals in achieving a sustainable healthcare system, along with other topics related to climate change. The debates involved the participation of a group of global and regional experts.
This session was remarkable as it included four Arab health ministers from Egypt, Tunisia, Jordan, and Lebanon, who shared their experiences in this context. This reflected our steadfast Arab commitment to building a sustainable and flexible healthcare system in response to climate challenges.
The AHF delegation also participated in numerous discussions organized by various entities, such as the Department of Health Abu Dhabi, the US Council, and others.

With the aim to promote a culture of sustainability and transformation and change towards achieving an environmentally sustainable healthcare system, a delegation from the Arab Hospitals Federation regrouping MP Fadi Alame- AHF President, Prof. Tawfik Khoja – AHF General Secretary, Mrs. Alice Yammine Boueiz – AHF CEO and Dr. Bassam Kaddissi- Chairman of Healthcare Sustainability Division- AHF had the honor to visit H.E. Sheikh Abdulla Mohamed Butti Al Hamed, Chairman of Q Holding Group. The AHF was proud to announce a strategic partnership with Q Holding to promote sustainability in the Arab world across various fields, ranging from sustainable cities to healthcare facilities. This partnership is expected to have a positive impact on the health of the population and safeguard the planet for future generations.
Arab Health Day – League of Arab States
The Arab Hospitals Federation was invited to take part in the Arab Health Day organized by the League of Arab States in Cairo on 7 September 2023 under the slogan of Climate change impact on health. The Federation was headed by MP Fadi Alame- AHF President in the presence of Prof. Tawfik Khoja – AHF General Secretary, Mrs. Alice Boueiz – AHF CEO and Dr. Bassam Kaddissi- Chairman of the Healthcare Sustainability Division.
The Federation contribution in this special celebration included the participation of AHF CEO as Panel discussion chairperson and the presence of Dr. Bassam Kaddissi as panelist.
WHO EMRO WEBINAR
Environmentally sustainable Hospitals and their role in climate action
The Arab Hospitals Federation was invited by WHO EMRO to take part in the webinar organized on 22 June 2023 about Environmentally sustainable Hospitals and their role in climate action.
Considering the vast work of the Arab Hospitals Federation in the “Healthcare Sustainability” area, Dr. Bassam Kaddissi - Chairman of AHF Healthcare Sustainability Division shared AHF experience in advancing sustainability concepts and operationalization and how AHF sees the future of sustainable hospitals in high- and low-income countries in the region.
The webinar aimed to create a platform for dialogue to support regional climate action by raising the awareness of policy makers, hospital managers, and health professionals regarding the sustainability challenges and the role of health facilities, particularly hospitals, in addressing these environmental issues.
70th session of the Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean.
The Arab Hospitals Federation represented by the General Secretary Prof. Tawfik Khoja took part in the 70th session of the WHO Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean that was held on 9–12 October 2023 at the WHO Regional Office premises in Cairo, Egypt under the theme “United for a healthier future.”
The Federation had the honor to participate in the various activities organized and to contribute to the fruitful the discussions about multiple issues related to the core activities and priorities addressed in the Federation.
Africa Health Excon
The Arab Hospitals Federation organized a Health Management Conference during Africa Health ExCon held by the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement under the auspices of HE. Abdel Fattah El-Sisi President of the Arab Republic of Egypt on 7-8 June 2023 under the theme of: Transforming Healthcare: Reshaping. Partnering. Advancing. The conference offered unlimited networking opportunities and shed the light on major issues and challenges in healthcare ranging from sustainability to emergency and disaster preparedness to digital healthcare transformation and finally governance, leadership and policies. We had the honor to welcome renowned speakers who shared their expertise with a very targeted audience.

WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION
In the context of building a robust collaboration and partnership between the Arab Hospitals Federation & WHO - EMRO, a meeting was organized between both parties to discuss all points related to advance Health in Arab Healthcare sector.
The AHF delegation was honored to meet HE. Dr. Ahmed Al Mandhari – Regional Director of WHO EMRO and high level team members to discuss the way forward in strengthening the partnership with the WHO and exploring the areas of collaboration together in various fields and programs with the aim of advancing health and excellence in the Arab countries.
